About Q Wealth Partners
Q Wealth Partners is one of Canada’s largest independent Portfolio Management firms, with nearly $10 billion in assets under management, supporting 30+ partner offices across Canada. As a registered Portfolio Manager, we hold ourselves to a fiduciary standard, which means acting in our clients’ best interest at all times.
Our model is built on partnership. Independent advisory firms join Q Wealth as Partners, operating under their own brands while relying on our shared investment, operations, and technology platform. That platform is what frees our advisors to spend their time on clients instead of in the weeds, and the team in this role is a big part of what makes it work.
The role
We’re looking for an operations leader to run investment operations and client reporting for a national wealth management business serving clients in Canada and the U.S.
You’ll lead a team of 3–5 and sit at the centre of how our business runs: advisors, client service, custodians (NBIN and Schwab), fund administrators, technology vendors, asset management, finance, and the executive team. You’ll own the accuracy of what clients receive (statements, performance reports, tax slips) and the systems and processes behind it.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Operations Leadership
· Lead the team and day-to-day investment operations. Manage and develop a team of 3–5 operations professionals.
· Run day-to-day investment operations across our Partner offices, including trade operations, cash management, account linking, bulk portal access, and operational controls, for both Canadian (NBIN) and U.S. (Schwab) accounts.
· Monitor operational risk, exceptions, escalations, and service levels.
· Build and maintain operational procedures and controls.
· Support advisors and client service teams on complex operational issues.
· Lead incident response and remediation when things go wrong.
Tax Reporting Oversight
- Coordinate annual tax reporting activities including the coordinated client-delivery of custodian tax, asset management tax slips and annual tax packages creation.
- Manage relationships with custodians, fund administrators, and reporting providers.
- Participate in tax reporting validation and reconciliation activities.
- Support advisor and partner-office inquiries relating to tax reporting.
- Oversee annual tax season readiness planning and post-season process improvements.
Client Reporting & Reporting Governance
- Own reporting governance frameworks and controls for quarterly and annual reporting requirements including annual summaries, gain/loss reporting, quarterly performance statements and ad hoc reporting processes.
- Ensure reporting accuracy across client-facing deliverables.
- Lead reconciliation and validation activities related to reporting outputs.
- Support ongoing enhancements to reporting platforms and client communication tools.
Business Systems Ownership
- Act as operational business owner for reporting and operational technology platforms.
- Define business requirements and prioritize enhancements.
- Lead user acceptance testing and production validation.
- Coordinate vendor relationships and issue resolution.
- Drive automation and process-improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as primary relationship manager for key service providers and vendors.
- Coordinate multi-party issue resolution and escalation activities.
- Lead operational projects involving custodians, technology firms, fund administrators, and internal teams.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of wealth management, asset management, or investment operations experience.
- Hands-on experience with NBIN and D1g1t. Other portfolio reporting systems is helpful.
· Strong understanding of investment operations, client reporting, and the regulatory requirements behind it (NI 31-103, CRM2).

- Proven ability to manage complex operational initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
